The European Robotics Forum (ERF) 2024 took place from March 13 to 15 in Rimini, Italy. As one of the key events in the robotics industry, ERF brought together experts, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss the latest advancements and the potential of robotics in various fields.
With the University of Bologna overseeing the scientific program, ERF 2024 was a valuable gathering of professionals from academia and industry. The forum provided a platform for collaboration, scientific progress, and the identification of new robotic applications to enhance industrial competitiveness and support economic growth.
At ERF 2024, Better Factory participated alongside industry leaders, highlighting its commitment to advancing manufacturing through collaborative robotics and new technologies. Collaborating with European projects CIRCULOOS and KITT4SME, Better Factory shared a booth, offering attendees insights into the innovative initiatives shaping the future of manufacturing.
A notable aspect of Better Factory’s presence at ERF 2024 was the presentation of a scientific paper by the Cyprus University of Technology. The paper focused on the KTE experiment on Shoes in Circle, a project designed to automate the (re)manufacturing process in the footwear industry and create custom circular shoe models. The project’s goals included reducing waste, optimizing manufacturing processes, and improving worker safety, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient manufacturing ecosystem.

Anatoli, a speaker from the Cyprus University of Technology, commented, “Excited to have presented a paper at the European Robotics Forum 2024 yesterday regarding the optimization of manufacturing logistics in the shoe-making industry! This work employs SPECTER task planner to orchestrate the optimal workflows between machines, human workers, storage locations, and buffer zones.”

As Better Factory continues to innovate in manufacturing, we reflect on the accomplishments of ERF 2024 and the advancements in collaborative robotics. We encourage you to learn more about our initiatives and how we are transforming manufacturing practices to create a more sustainable and competitive industrial landscape.Stay tuned for more updates on our progress and developments in manufacturing technology!
