How does €200K funding for your manufacturing SME sound?

On 1 September, 2022, Better Factory will open its Second Open Call for applications from teams of one manufacturing SME, one artist and one technology provider.

Prioritised sectors are plastic and rubber, furniture and wood, food and agriculture, construction, metal and machinery, and textile and leather.

If successful, the 9 teams chosen to take part in the second round of Better Factory will explore new markets using digital tools, test and develop new lean-agile production technologies, make deals through the Robotics and Automation MarketPlace (RAMP), access training to re-skill staff, receive business support and mentoring, and to get up to €200K funding.

This will be the second round of applications for the project, with 7 teams being chosen last year. These teams are working on creating automated solutions for diverse challenges in the manufacturing SMEs, resulting in benefits like reduced costs, higher levels of efficiency, reduced waste, and safer working environments for factory workers. You can learn about last year’s KTE teams and get inspired with their work, by visiting our Experiments page, which includes videos and interviews with each team.

The timeline for this year’s open call can be found on the Open Call page. Applications open on 1 September 2022, and close on 15 November, 2022.
